Spirit, Strength, Legacy. Ramat Gan, Israel
In an exhibition at the Maccabi Sports Museum in Ramat Gan, opening on 3 June, we tell the remarkable story of the achievements of the Jewish sports club Hakoah Vienna 100 years ago.
Our exhibition is going on tour! From June 10 to August 5, it will be on display at Kultur Kontor Hamburg. Additional venues will follow. The traveling exhibition is funded by the Alfred Landecker Foundation.
Building Bridges – Combating Antisemitism Together
The last part of the project was the ‘Building Bridges: Together Through Sport’ event. This took place in Bratislava from 9 to 11 December 2024. This conference welcomed participants from all over Europe and was aimed at both professionals and volunteers, including athletes and activists, who are involved with sports and anti-discrimination efforts.
In cooperation with the Villa ten Hompel memorial site and the World Jewish Congress, we’re offering police officers from Germany and Austria a face-to-face look at the participation of the Third Reich’s uniformed police in the Holocaust.
In the run-up to and during the UEFA EURO 2024, “Football and Remembrance” is offering a comprehensive programme for dealing with the history of National Socialism. Memorials, places of remembrance and museums are taking part in specific events throughout the country and especially in the vicinity of the ten host cities.
The Evonik Industries company has been active in Holocaust education and remembrance efforts for many years. In February 2023, we developed for Evonik a seminar at the Memorial Site Mittelbau-Dora focusing on the use of forced labour under National Socialism.
